- Master's degree and PhD programme Cognitive Science and Language - CCiL

CCiL is an interdisciplinary postgraduate program (Masterís and PhD) in Cognitive Science taught jointly by some of Catalonia's leading universities. It has been designed to overcome the academic barriers that have grown up between the various disciplines that make up this broad field of study. The program focuses primarily on perception and language acquisition, the syntactic and semantic processing of speech, the relation between semantics and cognition, the logical structure of language and the epistemological and conceptual foundations of its study, the computational analysis of language and the relation between the different disciplines of Cognitive Science.

The CCiL Master has three different branches: Psychology (Models cognitius de Processament del Llenguatge), Linguistics (Teoria Gramatical i Processament LingŁŪstic) and Philosophy (LÚgica i FilosofŪa).

International Master's Programme award (AGAUR)

The Cognitive Science and Language (in Catalan, CiŤncia Cognitiva i Llenguatge, CCiL) PhD programme is an inter-university programme consisting of three Catalan universities: University of Barcelona (Coordinator), Universitat AutÚnoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) of Tarragona. This interdisciplinary character is reflected in the seven departments involved in training and research.

- Doctoral program in Health Psychology and Psychiatry

The main aim of the program is to provide a multidisciplinary framework that helps to improve the training of doctoral students so that they can engage in research in the fields of health, psychology and psychiatry. The Doctoral program is aimed to form experts in the different subjects of the program with advanced research and communication skills.

The program also brings together the specific fields of study related to health in general and mental health in particular, with special focuses on aspects of psychology, psychiatry, neurotoxicology and neurorehabilitation.

- Doctoral programme in Behavioral Evaluation and Measurement

A large number of psychology professionals and researchers currently work in the evaluation and measurement of behavior, either as members of research groups or with companies that need trained specialists in this field. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), the development of instruments and techniques has been one of the most important contributions to society made by psychology because it has improved psychological practices in all ambits. At the same time, the way that research is reviewed in Psychology (e.g. quality criteria, instructions for authors, etc.) emphasizes that behavioral measurement is a highly complex field that requires the development of reliable, valid and standardized instruments. It is, therefore, a complex field of fundamental and increasing importance. Proof of this is the creation in recent years of national and international associations and the burgeoning number of publications in the field of psychological evaluation and measurement.

The doctoral programme in Behavioral Evaluation and Measurement of the URV’s Department of Psychology provides research training in this leading field by researchers who are nationally and internationally renowned in their respective specialist areas.

- Collaboration of the CRAMC in the University Master's degree in Health Psychology

The principal aim of this master’s degree is to train students to become competent professionals in the evaluation and treatment of psychopathological and health problems. This training is based on the scientist-practitioner model which asserts that proper preparation for professional life involves the acquisition of both professional (applied) and research competencies. The master’s degree has been designed to provide applied and advanced training across a whole range of conceptual, procedural, technical and attitudinal principles to enable future professionals to work effectively in the field of Health Psychology. The content of the master’s degree also aims to provide basic and applied training in the field and to foster the critical and reflective capacities of students to improve their professional practice.
